What is Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?
Many people experience problems with their bladder or bowel, sexual function, vaginal prolapse (in women) or pelvic pain including endometriosis. A specialist pelvic health physiotherapist can work with you to improve your symptoms now, and prevent them from returning in the future.

It can also be useful to have a top-to-toe physiotherapy assessment after having a baby, however you have given birth. This may include back or pelvic pain, diastasis rectus abdominus (stretching of your abdominal muscles during pregnancy), pelvic floor problems, or pain with intercourse. These are all common and physiotherapy can usually help you to recover.

Treatments include pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation, dietary and fluid advice, management of constipation, scar work, learning about pain, and exercises. Any other health problems, and your lifestyle in general, can be discussed openly to determine how these may be
related to your symptoms.
